The Central Coast

With beautiful beaches, scenic bays and tranquil lakes, the NSW Central Coast is a water wonderland; from September through April school holidays, most beaches are patrolled by our local surf clubs – remember to always swim between the flags.

The Central Coast furthermore boasts a range of urban shopping centres, bursting with brand names, specialty stores, cafés, restaurants and other activities.

From Ettalong Beach to The Entrance, you’ll find a multitude of coastal adventures. Sail through sparkling waterways, surf big breaks or embark on a coastal drive in search of the perfect spot for a beachside picnic.

Erina Fair is the largest single level shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere featuring over 300 stores. Westfield Tuggerah, split over two levels, hosts over 250 stores. Bateau Bay Square, Imperial Centre Gosford and Lake Haven Shopping Centre are also thriving retail precincts.

There also is a park with swings and slides and AquaFun Avoca Lake is home to Australia’s largest selection of modern human-powered pedalboats, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards for hire. If you can’t decide which one to hire, you can try them all with the ‘extra fun’ option. No bookings necessary for casual hire as they have plenty of equipment.

Forresters Beach, or ‘Forries’ as the locals call it, is a coastal neighbourhood located between Wamberal and Bateau Bay. This coastal community is surrounded by a mix of quiet residential areas, a stunning walking trail through Wyrrabalong National Park, plus its own undeveloped beach offering a cracking surf break, rock pools and the hidden Spoon Bay tucked around the headland.

Forries is home to a cluster of gorgeous, friendly small businesses including a lifestyle and homewares boutique, beauty therapy, cafés, restaurants, takeaways, pizzeria and bakery. All these little local spots are ready for you to explore just minutes from the beach itself.

Macmasters Beach

Macmasters Beach is a south-eastern suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia on the Bouddi Peninsula and it was named after Allan MacMaster who was one of the first Land owners in this area in 1855 after coming to Australia in 1839 from Scotland.

The beach itself is a beautiful natural looking beach with a sheltered rock pool area for kids and the Surf Club kiosk serves up classic lunches with milliondollar views. Macmasters Beach is a popular picnic spot because it’s one of the only ones around with shade.

It’s also on a beautiful site at the foot of Bouddi National Park and the coastal views are not bad either. If you’re looking for somewhere to swim and picnic with shade, Macmasters is an ideal spot, however, be mindful the easterly wind can blow strong in the afternoon, particularly in summer.

End your day strolling Terrigal’s unique shopping strip known as “The Esplanade” where you’ll find buzzing restaurants, cafes, boutiques, ice cream parlours and rooftop bars.

Wamberal

Located in the heart of the Central Coast, Wamberal is all about cruisy coastal living and laid-back lifestyle. Notorious for its beautiful beach, lagoon and waterfront properties, the small suburb is Terrigal’s quieter next-door neighbour and home to families of all shapes and sizes.

Wamberal Beach is unspoilt and features off-leash dog areas, a rockpool, and views stretching to Terrigal Beach and Forresters Beach; the area called ‘The Bend’ attracts surfers from all over.
